Viva la liberte!!

Freedom!, the last words uttered by William Wallace before he was hanged. The word has so much symnbolism all over the world and means different things to different nations. But, history was made because of something the world craved for - freedom. Recently I was watching The Patriot on DVD, I am not a fan of Mel G, but the essence of the movie captured my imagination and I kept pondering over it. The American Revolution, which was the base of the movie and how USA gained its freedom, all in all, history was made.

From the Indian revolution, to the French, to the American, and to Israel's struggle for their God given inheritance, everything is for freedom. What is in that word that makes people give their lives for? Is it that important? Are we really free? Can we ever be free?

We might be free in terms of getting to vote the next person to rip us off, or we can be free to go where we want in the country, we might have freedom to say what we want, but is man really free?

Our forefathers fought and gave us a land, a country, a bright future, and abolished slavery. But we ourselves have become slaves. Yes, slaves in a free land. We are slaves to money, slaves to greed, slaves to gossip, and slaves to everything that can and will come up. Are we really free, then?

Now then, as I think about this, I feel man can never be free. Man is not free from the love of money, from the love of acquiring more assets, from greed, from jealousy, from covetousness, from gluttony, name anything, we are not free from it. And we think we are free men! All we have done is,we built up this notion that we are free, while we are still under bondage! Reminds me of the Matrix, really.

I pity the world I live in, and I pity the generations to come! I have come to realise and embrace that man can ever understand the true meaning of Freedom. I hope we realise our folly before its too late. I hope for the day we can look into ourselves and find ourselves truely free. And then, on that day, I will proudly shout "Viva la Liberte"!!

First of all u need to find out a way to spend ur free time :P stop watching movies..goto a bar or some other place to unwind....

So ur notion is that we are still slaves....in ur words not mine "Freedom ,..word has so much symnbolism all over the world " from that line u came to a conclusion that we are slaves to money greed and so on..bla bla bla..

pls clarify this If u wont earn how do u intend to live with empty stomach...nothing is free man...
or you are into Hiippes era....
haha...

One has to reliase that the word Freedom is an idea that u believe in and not that u want to pratically implement it.. as a human being the day when ur born in to this worls start a never ending obligation to look after ur folks and bonding thing..so by the literal meaning of freedom u intend to be free from responsibilites....

Instead of pitying..wallowing in self loathing...pick a cartoon movie instead...

and by the way why u are ranting about this freedon now!...

any trouble with ur Gfreind
